- •Detainees: two men and a woman from Tur'an

What Happened
Rabia Obeidiya's body was found in Lavi Forest, near Golani Junction, following a report to the police's 100 emergency hotline. The investigation was transferred to the Israel Police Northern District Central Unit. Three suspects were arrested overnight between Thursday and Friday.
The Suspected Motive
Obeidiya was a resident of the Palestinian village of Zububa in the Jenin area and worked for about two years at a construction company linked to some of the suspects. Police are investigating a suspected financial dispute: after leaving his job, he demanded compensation from his former employers that he believed was owed to him. He is suspected to have been invited to a meeting in the Golani Junction area to settle the dispute, where he was beaten to death.
Who Was Arrested
Two men and a woman from Tur'an were arrested. Two of the suspects are a married couple around 50 years old, while the third suspect is a man around 20 years old. Police intended to ask the Nof HaGalil–Nazareth Magistrate's Court to extend their detention.
The Current Stage of the Case
The investigation is ongoing, and the detainees are currently defined as suspects in involvement in the killing. As of publication, no indictments have been filed against them. The source does not report that the court has issued a decision on extending their detention, nor does it mention a specific legal provision on which the investigation is based.
What this means for you
An arrest on suspicion does not in itself establish guilt: the court decides whether the suspects will remain in custody, and the investigation may end with or without an indictment. The report also shows that a financial dispute between a worker and his former employer may become the subject of a separate criminal investigation if police suspect a link between the dispute and a violent crime.
